La Montée de la Grande Côte

If you had only one hour to visit Lyon,
if there was only one street to walk around,
if there is a way to pique your curiosity,
if this city could be summarized,
if climbing 1400 feet is worth a panorama,
if on a bench you could fall asleep or in love,
come drift along La Montée de la Grand Côte.
Located at the historical heart of Lyon, this pedestrian street is a link between La Place des Terreaux and Le Plateau de la Croix Rousse. It is one of the quietest area of the city, despite being one of the most popular. There are plenty of tea rooms, Arabic bakeries and craft shops; therefore, you could spend a whole day walking it. Just before reaching its top, take a moment to rest in Le Jardin de la Grande Côte, try to remember how it looks like so as to come back during the Illuminations and see it transformed.
Then eventually, climb a few more steps in order to take a deep breath and a wide look on Lyon, la ville lumière.
